Arabic vocabulary
How to say “my mother” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقُلْتُ فِدًى لَكَ أَبِيَ وَأُمِّيَ
So I said, "May my father and my mother be a ransom for you."
وَأُمِّيَ — and my mother. An 'and' joined to a noun bearing 'my', linking 'my mother' to 'my father' in the offering. The connector simply adds the second family member to the wish, and the suffix again carries the first-person owner inside the word.
