Arabic vocabulary
How to say “novelty” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَلَا تَكُنْ مِمَّنْ أَدْخَلَهُ طَلَبُ الْحِدَاثِ النَّارَ،
Do not be among those whom the pursuit of novelty has led into the Fire.
الْحِدَاثِ — novelty. This noun carries 'al-' (the) and completes the possessive pairing as the owner: 'the pursuit of novelty'. It sits in the 'of...' (genitive) shape the pairing requires, and being definite it makes the whole 'X of Y' subject definite as the force that drove people into the Fire.
