Arabic vocabulary
How to say “pursuit” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَلَا تَكُنْ مِمَّنْ أَدْخَلَهُ طَلَبُ الْحِدَاثِ النَّارَ،
Do not be among those whom the pursuit of novelty has led into the Fire.
طَلَبُ — the pursuit of. This noun is the doer of 'led into', the subject that performs the action, and it heads a possessive pairing with the next word: 'the seeking of...'. As the first half of that pairing it drops its own 'the', waiting to take definiteness from the owner that follows.
