How to say “path” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فما كان السلف يحطون على سالكه ويبدعونه،
The predecessors used to condemn those who followed this path and declare them innovators,
سَالِكِهِ — its path. This is an active participle ('the one walking [it]') with attached 'its', genitive after the preposition — 'whoever treads it', i.e. follows that rationalist path. The pronoun reaches back to the path itself, so reading the sentence means tracking what 'its' points to.
