Arabic vocabulary
How to say “prepare” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَتَجَهَّزَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُهَاجِرًا،
And Abu Bakr prepared to emigrate.
وَتَجَهَّزَ — and he prepared. The wa- resumes the story, hooking this new event onto the previous one as 'and (then)'. The past verb it rides on is a reflexive-type form meaning he readied himself; the joiner moves the account forward rather than adding to a list.
