Arabic vocabulary
How to say “protects” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وإدمان الحلو يرخي الشهوة ويحمي البدن،
Continuous consumption of sweets weakens appetite and heats the body.
يَحْمِي — it protects. This present-tense verb carries its subject inside it, still the sweet-indulgence topic, and names the second effect. The doer is built into the verb's shape, so no separate 'it' word appears.
