Arabic vocabulary
How to say “weakens” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وإدمان الحلو يرخي الشهوة ويحمي البدن،
Continuous consumption of sweets weakens appetite and heats the body.
يُرْخِي — it weakens. This present-tense verb, 'it slackens, it loosens', has its subject inside it, pointing back to the sweet-indulgence topic. Arabic carries the doer within the verb's form, so the word alone tells you it is 'it' doing the loosening.
