Arabic vocabulary
How to say “pushing” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَلَكِنْ بِالدَّفْعِ فِي صُدُورِهَا وَالْأَعْجَازِ،
But by pushing at her chest and hindquarters.
بِالدَّفْعِ — by pushing. This is the preposition bi- ('by/with') fused to a noun naming the act of pushing; it governs that noun in the genitive. The bi- marks the means, telling the reader HOW the thing was handled, by shoving rather than by welcome. One word carries both the 'by' and the action-noun.
