Good manners in a fool are like water in the roots of the colocynth.
أُصُولِ — roots of. This noun is the head of an ownership pair with the word after it, in the 'of' (genitive) form because the preceding 'in' governs it, and it also leads its own possessive chain. As pair-leader it drops its 'the'. It reads as 'the roots of ...'.
