How to say “she spoke harshly” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَأَتَتْهُ فَأَغَلَظَتْ،
So she came to him and spoke harshly.
فَأَغَلَظَتْ — so she spoke harshly. Here the fa- chains the next action onto the coming with a light 'so/and', glued to a past verb whose feminine ending marks 'she'; the verb of the speaking-roughly pattern carries her subject inside. The prefix sequences the action while the verb supplies the harsh speech.
