Arabic vocabulary
How to say “single out” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَخَصَّهُمْ بِهِدَايَتِهِ دُونَ مَنْ عَدَاهُمْ
And He singled them out for His guidance, excluding whoever was other than them.
وَخَصَّهُمْ — and He singled them out. This packs three things: wa- ('and') opens the clause, the verb is a past-tense action with God as its hidden doer, and -hum ('them') is the object riding on the end. So one Arabic word carries the connector, the verb, and its object together.
