How to say “slackened” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَرُبَّمَا فَتَرَتْ عَزِيمَتُهُ،
And sometimes his resolve slackened,
فَتَرَتْ — so slackened. A completed-action verb 'it slackened', whose feminine ending agrees with its subject 'his resolve', a feminine noun, named next. So the verb's shape already tells you its doer is feminine before the subject even appears. It states what occasionally happens to the man's drive.
