Arabic vocabulary
How to say “so he began” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَجَعَلَ يَسْحَبُهُ وَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَقُومَ
So he began to drag it, and he could not get up.
فَجعل — so he began. The sequence-connector 'so' is fused to a past-tense verb, 'began', a starter that sets up the next verb as an action getting underway. The connector ties this to the leaping just described. The unspoken 'he' doer is the man on the camel.
