How to say “spared” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَمَنْ هُوَ بَخِيلٌ شَحِيحٌ فَلَيْسَ بَوَّاقٌ وَلَا مُفْلِحٌ
And whoever is miserly and stingy is neither spared nor successful.
بَوَّاقٌ — spared. This noun is the first thing being denied of the subject by the is-not particle, taking the predicate role it governs. The negator's reach makes it 'is not spared'.
