How to say “substance” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَالصَّبْرُ قَرِينُ الْكَيِّسِ وَمَادَّتُهُ
Patience is the companion of the prudent and his very substance.
وَمَادَّتُهُ — and his substance. wa- coordinates a second predicate ('and its substance'), with 'its' attached pointing back to the prudent one. The suffix tracks that antecedent, so patience is called the very stuff OF the prudent person.
