Arabic vocabulary
سُّنَّةِ is how you say “Sunnah” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
وَكَانَتْ الْأَجْوَاءَ بَيْنَ الشِّيْعَةِ وَالسُّنَّةِ المَشْحُونَةَ،
And the atmosphere between the Shi'a and the Sunnis was tense.
وَالسُّنَّةِ — and the Sunnis. This joins a linking 'and' to the definite name 'the Sunnis', the second of the two parties. The 'and' pairs it with 'the Shi'a' inside the 'between...and...' frame, and it keeps the after-preposition case.
