Arabic vocabulary
How to say “take note” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَلَا يُحِيطُ عِلْمًا بِفَهْمِ كِتَابِهِ أَيْضًا،
Nor can he fully grasp the meaning of his book either.
عِلْمًا — knowledge. An indefinite noun 'knowledge', used in the accusative as an internal specifier of the verb, literally 'encompass in knowledge'. The accusative -an ending (audible tanween) marks this role; it intensifies the verb into 'fully comprehend'.
