Arabic vocabulary
How to say “the difficulty” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
الَّتِي تَتَنَاهَى إِلَى نِهَايَةِ الصُّعُوبَةِ،
which reach the very limits of difficulty,
الصُّعُوبَةِ — the difficulty. The al- marks this as definite, and as the owned tail of the possessive chain it takes the 'of' (genitive) ending, naming what the utmost belongs to: difficulty. Its 'l' assimilates in sound into the noun's first 'sun letter', doubling that consonant in speech; the phrase caps the image as 'the very limit of difficulty'.
