Arabic vocabulary
How to say “the inheritance” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَيَرَوْنَ وَأْدَ الْبَنَاتِ وَيَمْنَعُونَهُنَّ الْمِيرَاثَ
And they practiced burying daughters alive and denied them inheritance.
الْمِيرَاثَ — the inheritance. A definite noun in the accusative as the second object of the denying, the thing withheld. With the attached 'them' on the verb already taking one slot, this names what was kept from them.
