And they practiced burying daughters alive and denied them inheritance.
وَيَرَوْنَ — and they practiced. A present-tense verb with 'they' in its ending, opened by the attached 'and' and read here as habitual practice. Its present shape, set against the past narrative, conveys an ongoing custom they kept up.
