Arabic vocabulary
How to say “the lowest” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَأَخَذَ كُتُبَهُ، وَبَاعَهَا بِأَبْخَسِ الأَثْمَانِ
So he took his books and sold them at the lowest prices.
بِأَبْخَسِ — at the lowest. A preposition fused onto the front of a top-degree describing word ('the very cheapest'), where the preposition marks the price-level at which the selling happened and forces the 'of' (genitive) form. It also opens a pairing with the noun after it. The superlative sense lives in the word's own pattern.
