How to say “the other” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَلِهَذَا يُقَابِلُ أَحَدُهُمَا بِالْآخَرِ
And for this reason, one of them corresponds with the other.
بِالْآخَرِ — with the other. The bi- prefix marks the counterpart ('with/against'), governing a definite noun ('the other') into the genitive. It names what the one is set against, completing 'one against the other'.
