How to say “they both woke up” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَاسْتَيْقَظَا فَشَرِبَا غَبُوقَهُمَا،
Then they both woke up and drank their sips.
فَاسْتَيْقَظَا — then they both woke up. A past-tense verb whose ending marks a dual 'they two' subject, fronted by fa-. The fa- carries the narration forward, and the dual ending counts the wakers as exactly two, so no separate 'both' is needed.
