How to say “to carry” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
الإرادةُ تُشعل البداية، لكن العاداتِ تحملُ الطريق
Will kindles the beginning, but habits carry the journey.
تَحْمِلُ — carry. 'carries / bears,' what habits do to the road — feminine to agree with 'habits.' Its object, 'the road,' follows. Where will only lit the start, habit shoulders the whole long way.
From: Steady Spiritual Habits →وَتَحْمِلُ الْكُلَّ،
And you bear the whole.
وَتَحْمِلُ — and you bear. The wa- adds another virtue to the running list, and the verb carries its own 'you' subject inside it. It continues the chain of habitual 'and you...' praises.
