How to say “to spend the night” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
قَالَ نَعَمْ أَسْرَيْنَا لَيْلَتَنَا،
He said, "Yes, we spent the night."
أَسْرَيْنَا — we spent the night. A past-tense verb whose '-na' ending means 'we', so the plural subject sits inside the form. It reports the night-journeying the group did. Arabic encodes the first-person plural doer in this ending rather than with a separate 'we'.
