الْمعرفَة بِسَاط لَا يطَأ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا مقرب
Knowledge is a carpet stepped on only by those close to it.
يطَؤُ — steps on. A present-tense verb 'treads / steps', its subject coming after the exception, subject 'he' inside. The act restricted to the favored few.
