Arabic vocabulary
How to say “two kinds” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَأَفْضَلُ النَّاسِ أَصْبَرُهُمْ عَلَى النَّوْعَيْنِ
The best of people are those among them who are most patient regarding the two kinds.
النَّوْعَيْنِ — the two kinds. This is the dual, Arabic's dedicated 'exactly two' form, which English must spell out with 'two'. The count is carried in the noun's own ending rather than by a separate number word. It points back to the two categories of patience discussed earlier.
