Arabic vocabulary
How to say “warn” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وينذرهم شر ما يعلمه لهم،
and warn them of the worst he knew for them.
وَيُنْذِرَهُمْ — and warn them. This is wa- (and) on a present-tense verb with 'them' attached as object, 'and he warns them'. The verb sits in the subjunctive ending because it is carried along by the same 'that' that governed the earlier 'to guide', so the warning is a second part of the prophet's duty; the suffix marks the community as warned.
