Arabic vocabulary
أَمِنْ is how you say “was it from” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
أَمِنْ حَلالُ كَانَ أَمْ مِنْ حَرَامٍ؟
Was it lawful, or was it from something forbidden?
أَمِنْ — was it from. A blend of a yes/no question marker and the preposition 'from'. The question marker opens a 'was it...?' inquiry and pairs later with 'or' to offer two alternatives, while the bundled preposition sets up 'from [a lawful source]'. So this single word both asks and starts naming the first option.
