How to say “we fear” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
كُنَّا نَخَافُ أَنْ يَأْتِيَنَا،
We were afraid that he would come to us.
نَخَافُ — we fear. A present verb 'we fear' with the 'we' subject built into its prefix; paired with the past helper it gives an ongoing past dread. It then takes a goal-clause as what was feared.
