How to say “will I give birth” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
قَالَتْ يَا وَيْلَتَا أَأَلِدُ وَأَنَا عَجُوزُ
She said, "Alas, will I give birth while I am old?"
أألِدُ — will I give birth. A present-tense verb meaning roughly 'I bear/give birth', fronted by a question marker fused onto it so the whole thing reads as an incredulous question. The 'I' is built into the verb's prefix, not added as a separate pronoun.
