Arabic vocabulary
How to say “wind” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَمُرُّ كَالرِّيحِ،
And among them are those who pass like the wind.
كَالرِّيحِ — like the wind. The comparison particle ka- ('like') fused with the definite noun 'the wind', forming a simile of swiftness. The ka- sets up the likeness and forces the noun into the genitive ending. It pictures the speed of crossing.
