Arabic vocabulary
How to say “young people” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَقَدْ أَوَيْتُمْ الصُّبَاةَ،
And indeed you sheltered the young people.
الْصُّبَاةَ — the young people. The al- makes it definite — *the* particular group — and as the thing sheltered it takes the object (accusative) ending. That ending is Arabic's flag that this noun is what the verb acted on.
