How to say “a blow” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّهُ لَا يَحِسُّ بِضَرْبَةٍ مَبَنَّجٍ؛
And know that one does not feel a cushioned blow.
بضربةٍ — by a blow. The 'bi-' fused at the front links the feeling to its object; with this verb it marks what is or is not felt, 'feel [the impact of]'. It governs the indefinite noun after it into the 'of'-style ending, so the bundle means 'a blow' as the thing that goes unfelt.
