Arabic vocabulary
How to say “cushioned” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّهُ لَا يَحِسُّ بِضَرْبَةٍ مَبَنَّجٍ؛
And know that one does not feel a cushioned blow.
مبنَّج — cushioned. A passive participle, a 'made/done' word from a verb, describing the blow as one that has been numbed or cushioned, its sting deadened. It follows its noun and matches it, the Arabic way of attaching a description by agreement. So it specifies the kind of blow not felt: one whose pain has been dulled.
