How to say “a Jew” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَتَنَاوَلَ بِهِ يَهُودِيًّا لِيَضْرِبَهُ،
Then a Jew took hold of it to strike him.
يَهُودِيًّا — a Jew. The indefinite object that receives the action of taking hold: its ending marks it as 'a' one, not a specific person already known. It sits in the slot of the thing acted upon, so it is the target the grabber seized, introduced fresh into the scene.
