الطَّاعَاتِ — acts of worship. The definite plural that closes the 'of' pairing ('acts of worship'), supplying definiteness to the whole 'hardship of...' phrase. Its al- ('the') blends in sound into the following consonant, a normal assimilation invisible in writing. It carries the genitive ending as the owner term.
