Arabic vocabulary
How to say “adhere” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
واعتصمت مع ذلك بالكتاب والسنة وأصول السلف،
And you cling with that to the Book and the Sunnah and the principles of the pious predecessors,
وَاعْتَصَمْتَ — and you cling. The conjunction adds a second condition-verb in the past, you held fast, on a reflexive pattern meaning to grip something for protection, with 'you' marked. It continues the 'if' frame from the previous sentence, so it too reads as a hypothetical condition.
