How to say “affair” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
ويمر في أغراضه لولا أن العقل حجوز،
And he pursues his desires, were it not that reason restrains him.
أَغْرَاضِهِ — his affairs. In the genitive because 'in' governs it, this noun carries an attached 'his' that points back to the youth, so it means 'his aims'. The suffix tracks the possessor, naming the desires the young man drives toward.
