After him came the assembly of the sheikh, the jurist, the Unique Imam.
بُعْدُهُ — after him. An adverbial noun of position/time meaning 'after', with the 'him' suffix attached, 'after him'. It works adverbially to locate the next clause in sequence. The attached pronoun points back to the previously mentioned figure, marking the new scene as following his.
