How to say “al-Bunnani” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقَالَ لَا وَيَرْحَمُكَ اللَّهُ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ ثَابِتَ الْبُنَّانِيَّ
He said, "No. May God have mercy on you, for I heard Thabit al-Bunnani."
الْبُنَّانِيَّ — al-Bunnani. A relationship-name (a nisba, marking affiliation) in apposition to the previous name, also accusative to match it. It pins down exactly which Thabit is meant, and its doubled inner letter and ending mark the nisba form.
