Arabic vocabulary
How to say “and if” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَلَئِنِ إِعْتَذَرْتُ لَا تَعْذِرُونَنِي،
And even if I offered an excuse, you would not accept it.
وَلَئِنِ — and if. The opening wa- here links this whole new condition to the one before it as a parallel case, and it is glued to the same emphatic conditional 'if' seen earlier. So the word sets up a second 'and if...' running alongside the first, building a matched pair of hypotheticals.
