Masruq said, 'I asked Umm Ruman.'
She was Aisha's mother; as for what was said about her, whatever was said.
She said, "While I was sitting with Aisha,"
When a woman from the Helpers entered upon us,
And she said, "Allah did something to so-and-so, and did..."
She said, so I said, "Why?" She said, "Indeed he was a slanderer of the mention of the report."
So Aisha said, "Which report?" So she told her.
She said, and Abu Bakr and the Messenger of God heard it, may God bless him and grant him peace.
She said, 'Yes,' then she collapsed, fainting upon her.
So she did not regain consciousness except that a fever with shaking was upon her.
The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, came and said, "What is the matter with her?"
I said a fever had seized her because of a story she was telling about it.
She sat down and said, "By God, if I swear, you will not believe me."
And even if I offered an excuse, you would not accept it.
My example and your example are like the example of Jacob and his sons.
So Allah is the one whose help is sought concerning what you describe.
Then the Prophet withdrew.
Then Allah revealed what He revealed.
He informed her, and she said, "Praise is for Allah, not for anyone else."
