سَمِعْت رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه و سلم يَقُولُ
I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say:
اللَّهِ — of Allah. The owner in 'Messenger of ___', in the genitive, completing the title. Its definiteness flows back to make the whole title definite.

But it is not among the sciences of religion, nor is it something that brings one closer to Allah, nor is it provision for the hereafter.
اللَّهِ — God. Genitive after 'to', this is the destination of the drawing-near: God. The clause as a whole says this discipline is NOT among the things that bring one closer to Him. Its ending follows from the preposition.

وَاللَّهِ — by Allah. This is the oath-particle 'by' plus 'God' — 'by God!'. The 'wa-' here is not 'and' but the particle of swearing, and it forces the divine name into the genitive. The man swears to his resolve.

بِاللَّهِ — by Allah. This is the divine name with the preposition 'against/in' fused to its front, so 'against God'. The preposition links the slandering verb to its object, marking God as the one impugned.

and may Allah have mercy on him, he was one of the pious and among the true friends of Allah.
اللَّهِ — of Allah. This divine name is the owner closing the 'friends of Allah' pairing, so it takes the governed ending and is definite as a unique name. It fixes whose intimates they are.

اللَّهِ — Allah. The divine name, 'Allah', governed by 'from' into the owned form, 'from Allah'. It names the source of what has come.

Arabic builds that link by placing the two nouns directly together with no separate word for 'of', and this second noun shows the ownership through its ending. It also supplies the definiteness for the whole phrase, so 'sword of God' reads as fully specific.
