Arabic vocabulary
How to say “and sometimes” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَتَارَةً لَهُ وَتَارَةً عَلَيْهِ
Sometimes it is in his favor, and sometimes it is against him.
وَتَارَةً — and sometimes. The joining 'wa-' opens the second half of the 'sometimes... sometimes...' frame, and the noun again works as a time-adverb 'at another time'. The conjunction marks the pivot to the contrasting case.
