Arabic vocabulary
How to say “and strove” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
أَوْ نَالَ الْقَضَاءَ فَسَعَى فِي حِفْظِ مَنْزِلَتِهِ،
Or he attained the judgeship and strove to preserve his position,
فَسَعَى — and strove. The 'fa-' here is the 'and so' of consequence, presenting the striving as the natural next move once the post was won. It rides on a past verb that holds its own 'he' subject, so one word both makes the link and names who acted.
