Arabic vocabulary
How to say “and the most of them” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
أَوْسَطُ قُرَيْشِ نَسَبًا وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ مَالًا،
She was of the middle lineage among the Quraysh and the wealthiest of them in wealth.
وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ — and the most of them. The connector wa- ('and') fused to a superlative ('the most') that itself carries the suffix '-hum' ('of them') as the group compared against. So 'and the most of them' is one word, coordinating a second superlative claim alongside the first.
