قَالُوا أَعْلَمُنَا وَابْنُ أَعْلَمِنَا وَأَخْبَرَنَا وَابْنُ أَخْبَرِنَا
They said, "He was more learned than we are, and the son of someone more learned than we are, and he informed us, and the son of the one who informed us."
وَابْنُ — and the son. An 'and' joined to a noun 'son', which also heads an ownership pairing with what follows. The connector adds a further description, and as head the noun draws its possessor from the next word.
