Arabic vocabulary
How to say “around him” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَخَرَجْتُ أَنْفُضُ مَا حَوْلَهُ،
And I went out, shaking off what was around him.
حَوْلَهُ — around him. A locative word, 'around', fused with the pronoun '-hu' (him), so one word means 'around him', the 'him' pointing back to the sleeping Prophet. It forces that attached pronoun into the 'of'-style ending and fixes the zone cleared. The pronoun tracks the earlier person.
