Arabic vocabulary
How to say “asking” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَسُؤَالُ الْهِدَايَةِ مُتَضَمِّنٌ لِحُصُولِ كُلِّ خَيْرٍ،
So asking for guidance implies obtaining every good,
فَسُؤَالُ — so asking. The fa- prefix is a 'so' that draws a conclusion from the earlier discussion. The rest is a verbal noun, the naming of the act of asking, and it heads a possessive pairing with the next word: 'the asking OF guidance'. As the first half of that pairing it drops any 'the' of its own.
